What I do
I help travel companies understand their travel insurance programs, and then get a lot more out of them.
Every program’s a little different, but after 25 years I’ve seen most of the options that are offered in the market. . Some of what I do is teaching, some is showing, and some is rolling up my sleeves and doing it with you.
Program Audits
This is the showing part. I will go through your whole program with you, honestly and in plain English: coverage, take rate, how the economics are split between you and your partner and why, who owns it internally, whether the plan still makes sense for the places you’re sending people. When I’m done you’ll understand your own program better than you ever have, and you’ll know what’s working, where improvements can be made, , and where the upside is.
This is a good fit if you’re heading to new destinations, switching vendors, or you’d just like an unbiased second set of eyes.
Starting at $4,500
RFP Management
First we figure out whether you even need an RFP. (Sometimes you don’t. I’ll tell you.) If you do, I run it with you from start to finish: I put it together, send it out, build the shortlist, and guide you through the contract a negotiation that works for both sides. I’ve answered a lot of RFPs from the carrier side, so I know what a good one looks like, and what makes a carrier take you seriously.
This is a good fit if you’re ready to make a change, or you’re starting a program from scratch and would like to skip the part where you learn everything the hard way.
Starting at $30,000. Programs over $12M in annual premium are priced as a percentage of premium.
Staff Training
This is the teaching part. Workshops for the team handling your program day-to-day: compliance, scripts, product knowledge, and the parts of travel insurance that make you want to lie down for a while. Most teams were handed this program on top of everything else and never got a proper walkthrough. That’s what this is.
Sessions are remote, an hour each, and nobody has to fly anywhere. I’ll come in person if you’d rather; the rate adjusts. Most people call me after a plan change, or when they want the take rate to go up or figure the team could use a refresher.
Starting at $1,000 for a two-session day.
Ongoing Advisory
This is the helping part, on retainer. It keeps me on your side of the table: regular reviews, partner conversations, and someone to call when you get an email full of insurance words and need a translation. Twenty hours a month.
This is a good fit for tour operators and agencies who are new to the market, or thinking about switching providers, changing coverage, or self-insuring, and would like someone in their corner who’s seen how this goes.
Starting at $7,750 a month
Regulatory & Compliance
Insurance is regulated state by state. That means 50 states and the potential for 50 different sets of rules for how you offer and sell it. Okay, fine, 51, since DC also wants to chime in. I help you understand the rules that actually apply to you and keep your organization properly licensed, so a shutdown notice and a fine never land on your desk. Those are not fun envelopes to open.
Especially useful for new team leaders, companies new to the market, and anyone offering a custom plan or higher commissions, which is exactly the kind of thing regulators find very interesting.
More than one thing going on?
Claims analysis, a vendor change, and a compliance question, all due yesterday. Or a program that’s losing money and nobody can tell you where it’s going. We’ll scope it together and price it to fit.
Custom project packages. Rates on request.
Just need a few hours?
Sometimes you don’t need a whole engagement. You want to understand travel insurance at a high level, or you’ve got one specific question — a contract clause, a renewal you’d like a second opinion on, whether self-insuring makes any sense (it might). Happy to do that.
$400 an hour
How this usually goes
Every engagement looks a little different, but they usually start the same way.
-

Book a call
We get thirty minutes on the phone. You tell me what's driving you crazy about your program. I ask questions and tell you what I think.
-

We pick our target
After the call, we figure out what will actually make a dent — maybe a full audit, maybe running your RFP, maybe a retainer, maybe a few hours to unpick one specific thing.
-

We get to work
If we're a fit, we get started. I stay in it with you the whole way through. I'm not the kind of consultant who hands you a deck and disappears.
Not sure which one you need? Great.
That’s literally what the first call is for.
